(1) For the purpose of subsection (5) of Section 15 of the Act, local bodies shall separate waste at source, reduce it at source, reuse and recycle waste, companies, organizations and companies that produce waste. Community and non-governmental organizations can be mobilized to empower the agency and increase public awareness regarding waste management.

(2) List of community and non-governmental organizations working in the field of waste management by the local body for the activities as per sub-rule (1). should be prepared.

(3) The process related to preparing and operating a list of community and non-governmental organizations for the work as per sub-rule (1) shall be in accordance with the prevailing law.
